Goat FAQs

Are deposits refundable? Deposits are nonrefundable. They will only be refundable in the event that the kid perishes on the farm. In this case another kid can be chosen if available or if no other kids are available the deposit will be refunded for this kid only. If multiples are purchased their deposits will not be refunded.

What happens if I cannot pick up on the ready for pickup date? We understand that sometimes the date available may not fit with your schedule (especially if on a weekday). If the pickup date is on a weekday, you can schedule the date of pickup for that weekend at no extra charge. If you may need an extra week or two and know this before the final 2 weeks of pickup, you can contact us to work out a date with extra charge at our discretion. For any other time, we do charge an extra $2.00 per day to hold the goat until pickup (this excludes the first weekend if your goat is set to be picked up during the week). Please contact us with any date adjustments as we are willing to work with you to make sure that we get a date that works best for you and may waive the $2.00 a day charge in certain instances.

Do you give vaccinations or any preventatives to the kids? All our kids will have their first and second CD&T vaccination, along with their mother being given a booster 30 days prior to kidding. We also start the kids on Toltazuril at 3 weeks of age and repeat every 3 weeks until weaned.

Do you offer a health guarantee? We strive to only send out healthy happy kids. We do not offer a health guarantee once the kids leave our farm. Vet checks, at buyer's cost, can be performed to give a certificate of health prior to leaving if buyer wants.

Are the kids disbudded? At this time on the farm we currently do not disbud our kids.

Are the kids socialized and friendly? We handle our kids from birth. We are typically with them while the dams are birthing and we handle to get weights and dip the cords in iodine. We heavily socialize are of our kids and spend hours each day with them to get them use to being handled and use to human interactions.

Can we visit our kids after deposit on the farm? Absolutely! We love when our kids have visits from their new owners. This gives the kids time to get to know their new owners as well as letting the new owners see the milestones their kids have reached.

Can be view kids prior to putting down a deposit? Yes! Due to biosecurity we have a place set up for viewing the kids that is not in our barn. This allows visits at any temperature or weather condition, so we do not have to worry about the health of the kid in whatever mother nature is throwing at us as well as keeping you comfortable while meeting your kid. We understand that sometimes it is just to far to make the journey in person, so we offer virtual visits to the farm as well. We can use Skype or Facebook Messenger to allow a video call for you to view the kids you are interested in.

Are the kids registered? Currently none of our kids are registerable.

How can deposits and final payments be made? We take Cash, Venmo or credit cards. Please note that there is a 3% charge applied for credit cards. We are in the process of setting up a way to pay the deposit and final payment through the website as well. Upon receiving deposit or final payment we issue a receipt reflecting balance or deposit paid.

Do you offer a mentorship? Absolutely! We understand that some of our first buy goat owners may feel a little overwhelmed with all the information that is thrown at them. We offer lifetime mentorship to help you with any kids bought here (or any in your herd!). We understand that in stressful situations how having another person to throw ideas with around can be an invaluable resource.

Do you allow farm visits to meet your herd? We typically do not open our herd up to the public for just entertainment purposes. If you are wanting to learn about goats and see the kind of structures and fencing, we are happy to schedule a visit to teach you about goats and goat education.

I'm new to goats, which breed should I choose? Breed choice comes down to what you want for your herd. We offer the smaller sized goats. The nigerians are dairy goats and can be utilized to provide milk while having a smaller goat. The nigerian/pygmy crosses are considered dual purpose as nigerians are dairy and pygmy are considered a meat goat. These will stay small as well and heavily favor their nigerian dwarf counterparts and are also great for milking and utilizing the milk. Myotonic (fainting) goats are considered meat goats. Our myotonics are on the medium size end of goats. All three of these breeds have great personalities and offer enjoyment to their new owners. They can also be bought strictly for pet use as well. If you have more questions feel free to reach out and we will assist you in anyway in choosing the right goat for your needs and herd, even if it isn't from us.

Can I just have one goat? No. Goats are herd animals and feel safer in numbers. If you are new to goats, a minimum of 2 is needed. We will only sell goats individually if the buyer has goats already.
