Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes in our little woodshop here at Combs Kiddin Around Farm? Spoiler: It involves a lot of sawdust, caffeine, and goats yelling at the windows because they think everything we made is secretly for them.
Our woodshop is where all of our handcrafted farmhouse pieces come to life - from birdhouse key holders to serving trays to those cedar soap holders that everyone seems to love. Every piece is cut, shaped, sanded and finished by hand. Nothing mass-produced, nothing imported, nothing flimsy. If we make it, it's built to survive goats, kids, husbands, and daily chaos.
What we build back here:
Rustic birdhouse key holders (big and small)
Mountain Shelf Sitters
Christmas & Seasonal serving trays
Cedar soap holders
Decorative cutting boards
Food grade cutting boards
Hay feeders, milk stands, and farm builds
Custom projects for folks who message us with their "we saw this on Pinterest..." ideas :)
What Makes our pieces different:
We hand-select every board (pine, cedar, maple, cherry, walnut).
Everything is sanded silky smooth (No splinters - promise)
Stains and finishes are done by hand, one at a time.
Pine versions can be sealed or left unsealed for DIY lovers.
Woodburning is available for a personal touch.
The goats' contribution:
Emotional Support.
Judgemental staring.
Occasional screaming.
Zero Actual Labor.
Our goal:
To give homes unique, sturdy, honest-to-goodness handmade pieces that feel like they came straight out of a cozy farmhouse - because they did. Right out of ours.
We'l be adding more designs throughout the upcoming year, especially before Christmas. If there's something you want and don't see, just shoot us a message. We genuinely love custom builds..and it gives us an excuse to stay in the shop away from the goat for a few minutes.
