Our Story

Every good farm has a beginning — ours started with a love for animals, a piece of Kentucky land, and a dream to live a simpler, more meaningful life.

We’re Jennifer and Dale Combs, the heart and hands behind Combs’ Kiddin’ Around Farm. What began as a small family venture has grown into a place full of laughter, learning, and love — where Nigerian Dwarf goats roam the pastures, sawdust fills the workshop, and every project carries a little bit of our story.

Our first goats taught us more than we could have imagined. They showed us patience, responsibility, and the joy of small moments — the sound of hooves on the barn floor, the first bottle feeding of a new kid, the quiet calm of evening chores. Those moments inspired everything we do today.

Over time, our passions began to blend — the goats gave us creamy, nourishing milk, and our woodshop gave us tools, feeders, and furniture that made farm life easier and more beautiful. From there, our handcrafted goat milk soaps and wood creations were born — each one made with the same care we give to our animals.

We take pride in creating things that last — from the goats we raise to the stands, trays, and soaps we build by hand. Each item tells a story of hard work, sustainability, and Kentucky farm pride.

Our goal has always been simple: to share a piece of that life with others — whether you’re looking for a friendly new goat, a handmade soap, or something special from our woodshop. When you support our farm, you’re not just buying a product — you’re becoming part of our story.

Thank you for following along on our journey, for believing in small farms, and for helping us keep traditional craftsmanship alive.

We’re so glad you’re here.

Mission and Aspirations

Bringing the joy of farm animals to others

At Combs’ Kiddin’ Around Farm, our mission is simple: to raise happy, healthy miniature goats and craft quality goods that bring genuine farm-life joy into everyday homes. We believe that sized-down livestock and handcrafted farm-made products offer big heart and meaningful connection.

Our Mission

We commit to:

Raising and offering Nigerian Dwarf and Nigerian/Pygmy cross goats from strong milking lines, with health, temperament, and conformation as top priorities.

Socializing every kid and providing lifetime mentorship to new owners so your goat is more than livestock— it’s part of the family.

Operating a woodshop right here on the farm, creating functional, farm-inspired furniture and gear like milk stands, hay feeders, and other durable handmade items.

Our Aspirations (Vision)

Looking ahead, we aspire to:

Grow our herd thoughtfully, focusing on ADGA-registered Nigerian Dwarfs and maintaining a strong standard of care and genetics.

Expand our woodworking line to include more home and farm products that blend rustic charm with everyday practicality.

Share our knowledge and passion through educational resources, workshops, and farm visits that inspire others to embrace small-scale, sustainable farming.

Continue crafting custom wood-shop items that allow our customers to bring a touch of farm living into their homes.

Our Core Values

Animal health & welfare first: Healthy animals are the foundation of everything we do.

Our Personal Story

Our Roots Grow Deep

Hi there — we’re Jennifer and Dale Combs, the folks behind Combs’ Kiddin’ Around Farm here in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.

Our story started the way a lot of good ones do — with a dream, a few goats, and a whole lot of learning along the way.

We never set out to build a big operation. What we wanted was a life that meant something — one where we could work with our hands, live close to our animals, and build something worth passing down.

Our first goats were Nigerian Dwarfs — small in size but full of personality. We fell in love instantly. Before long, we were spending late nights in the barn bottle-feeding kids, learning how to make goat milk soap, and figuring out how to turn our little piece of land into something special.

Dale’s background in woodworking came in handy pretty quickly. Between feeding schedules and soap batches, he started building milk stands, feeders, and all sorts of wooden projects to make farm life easier. What began as “let’s make one for us” turned into “let’s make one for someone else.” Before long, we were crafting custom wood pieces for other farmers and families — everything from hay feeders to serving trays.

I (Jennifer) found my peace in soapmaking. Using milk from our own goats, I started experimenting with natural oils and simple, wholesome recipes. That first batch — rough edges and all — reminded me why I wanted this life in the first place: to make something real, by hand, that could make someone else’s day a little better.

Over time, our little farm turned into something more than a place — it became a purpose. We now raise Nigerian Dwarf and Nigerian/Pygmy cross goats, make goat milk soaps, and build handcrafted wooden pieces — all with the same care, integrity, and love that started it all.

Every goat we raise and every product we make carries a piece of who we are — the hard work, the laughter, the mistakes, and the moments that made us fall in love with this life.

We’re proud to call Lawrenceburg home and even prouder to share a piece of our farm with others. Whether you’re here to add a new goat to your family, grab a handmade soap, or pick up something special from the woodshop — thank you for supporting what we do.

This isn’t just our business. It’s our story, our dream, and our way of life.
